Today VIAVI announces the addition of the OLP-39 to its SmartPocket V2 family, combining PON power measurement with TruePON PON-ID analysis for G-PON and XGS-PON services, creating the industry’s smallest, most robust TruePON Tester.
Increased demand for FTTH services is highlighting the need to ensure installs happen right the first time and to stop abandonments which drive repeat truck rolls. A major challenge for installers and contractors is selecting the correct drop port/fiber. Labeling can be incorrect, illegible, or just missing and distribution fibers can be cross connected to the wrong splitter and OLT port. Picking the wrong drop port/fiber means incorrect customer to OLT connections resulting in services that don’t turn up on the first visit. TruePON PON-ID analysis guarantees connection to the correct OLT port eliminating install errors and activation delays.
